God lends us his children in different stages,
Through different parents and of all ages.
Our job is to nurture, love and feed them,
They are the voice of our future - precious gems.

We cannot forge them into our mold,
But try to teach them to be brave and bold.
To teach by example faith and honesty,
Respect for others and their property.

The hardest part is the letting go;
Refusing will only make us their foe.
To stand by when they stumble and fall
For they must learn by experiencing all.

A son by blood or a daughter by love,
Each child was sent from God above.
To cherish and hold for a little while,
And release to the world with a thankful smile.
